Admission Tips

Tsinghua is the most competitive C9 for international students. CSC Type A spots are limited — a pre-acceptance letter from a professor is almost mandatory for PhD applicants. Master's programs have minimum GPA requirements of 3.5/4.0 in practice. The GIX (Global Innovation Exchange) program with University of Washington is an alternative entry path. Apply early — January deadlines are strict.

Campus Life

The main campus is a UNESCO-worthy blend of traditional Chinese gardens and modern research centers. Located in Haidian (Beijing's university district), you're surrounded by Peking University, Renmin, and dozens of other schools. Beijing metro access is excellent. International dorms are on-campus with 1–2 person rooms. Beijing's cost of living is higher than most Chinese cities — budget ¥3,000–5,000/month for comfortable living.
