About Xi'an Jiaotong University

Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) is the western pillar of the C9 League, originally relocated from Shanghai to Xi'an in 1956 as part of China's strategic development of the western region. This history gives XJTU a unique blend of Shanghai academic DNA and Xi'an's ancient cultural richness. The university excels in electrical engineering, energy systems, and mechanical engineering — its power engineering department is #1 in China. Xi'an itself is one of China's most fascinating cities — home to the Terracotta Warriors, ancient city walls, and the Muslim Quarter's legendary street food. The China Western Science and Technology Innovation Harbour (WCSTIH) is XJTU's massive new $2B campus, one of the most advanced in Asia.
